EcoVadis Support

Company

Cegos is an international leader in professional continuing education, currently celebrating its 100th anniversary. The group has approximately 1,200 employees, with headquarters in Issy-les-Moulineaux and 13 entities spread across Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Cegos offers a catalog of about 1,000 training courses, with an average duration of 2 days.

Regarding CSR, the team is led by Katia and Tania (in collaboration with the quality team), with CSR having been integrated into the strategy since 2021.

What were the challenges?

The initial need regarding EcoVadis was clear:

  • Improve the EcoVadis score after several years without progress.
  • Structure and harmonize the approach, going beyond just "answering the questionnaire."

The major challenge was organizational: since the assessment is conducted at the group level, we had to manage international entities with different scopes, practices, and regulations. For example, priority topics could vary significantly from one country to another.

What actions did Altopi take to address these challenges?

Altopi supported Cegos in structuring a robust and reusable EcoVadis response. Here is what we built together:

  1. Framing & clarifying EcoVadis expectations
    • Establishing a framework
    • Translating requirements into concrete elements: policies, actions, evidence, and indicators.
      ‍
  2. Group alignment & identifying gaps
    • Harmonizing practices and consolidating at the group level.
    • Identifying blockers and shortcomings, such as incomplete key documents.
      ‍
  3. Structuring evidence and indicators
    • Selecting and organizing documentation to showcase existing efforts.
    • Strengthening indicator structure and data collection.
      ‍
  4. Accelerating priority areas, particularly sustainable procurement
    • Launching initiatives that drive long-term progress.
    • Creating elements that remain reusable over time.

What were the results?

The support enabled Cegos to:

  • Achieve an improved EcoVadis score.
  • Give a boost to key structural projects, especially in sustainable procurement.
  • Capitalize on deliverables that extend beyond EcoVadis: reuse in tenders, more robust data collection, and better-structured indicators.

The challenge was treated as a fundamental initiative: creating a guide and framework to provide meaning and consistency at the group level, rather than just a "platform" response.

Cegos

"We really had a framework and a method. What we built is now used for tenders, not just for EcoVadis."
