Sider

Sider specializes in distributing technical supplies to finishing trade professionals and local authority maintenance departments. For 50 years, it has sold plumbing, heating, electrical, locksmithing, hardware, and tool equipment. The company now offers over 30,000 items.
Sider is part of the Qérys Group, a family-owned group consisting of several companies focused on the service and home improvement sectors.
The 2026 EcoVadis assessment covered the Sider SAS subsidiary, which has approximately 350 employees.

Client
Before working with Altopi, Sider already held an EcoVadis score of 80/100 and a Gold medal. The company wanted to secure its renewal, better showcase its existing initiatives, and reach the next level in its rating.
The initial analysis identified several priority areas:
- formalize quantitative CSR objectives with specific deadlines; - strengthen the sustainable procurement policy; - consolidate environmental, social, and procurement indicators over three years; - improve reporting by leveraging the VSME framework and a materiality analysis; - update certain ethical documents and internal procedures; - centralize the numerous supporting documents to facilitate their analysis by EcoVadis.
Another challenge was defining the right assessment scope. It was decided to keep the scope focused on Sider SAS rather than immediately extending it to the entire Qérys Group, to ensure sufficient coverage of the actions and indicators presented.
As part of the mission, we carried out:
- a detailed analysis of the previous EcoVadis assessment to identify key areas for improvement; - a mapping of documentation gaps across the four EcoVadis themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement; - the definition and formalization of quantitative CSR objectives with target years; - the co-drafting and strengthening of the sustainable procurement policy; - the creation of a CSR materiality matrix; - the alignment of reporting with the VSME framework; - the consolidation of CSR indicators over three years; - the update of the CSR report and QSE roadmap; - the analysis and selection of relevant certifications and supporting documents, notably ISO 14001 and ISO 45001; - the promotion of membership in the Supplier Relations and Responsible Purchasing Charter; - a full review of the questionnaire and supporting documents before submission.
The support also helped structure collaboration between SIDER’s CSR, HR, and Procurement teams, centered around a shared project space and regular action tracking.

Following the support, SIDER achieved an EcoVadis score of 87/100, up from 80/100 in its previous assessment.
This 7-point increase allowed the company to earn a Platinum medal and join the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis.
Results improved across all assessed themes. The main progress observed includes:
Beyond the medal, SIDER now has more structured CSR documentation, consolidated indicators, and a precise improvement plan to prepare for future EcoVadis assessments.
