Did you know? Through the Diag Decarbon’action program, SMEs can get subsidized support to complete their first carbon footprint assessment. As an accredited expert, Altopi guides you through every step. Here is everything you need to know.
The Diag Decarbon’action is a national initiative designed to support the ecological transition of businesses. It was launched by Bpifrance, in partnership with ADEME (the French Agency for Ecological Transition) and the Association Bilan Carbone.
The goal: to reduce corporate carbon footprints by helping companies start a structured and measurable process.
In practical terms, Diag Decarbon’action allows a company to:
- conduct a comprehensive Carbon Footprint assessment (Scopes 1, 2, and 3)
- co-create an action plan to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
- develop a CSR roadmap to launch the first 10 concrete actions with stakeholders
The program aims to:
- reduce energy consumption for businesses
- limit dependence on fossil fuels
- strengthen internal expertise on climate issues
- involve employees in the ecological transition
- improve the company's image with clients and partners
Your company can benefit from the program if it meets the following criteria:
- Fewer than 500 employees
- Has never conducted a GHG assessment
- Is up to date with tax and social security obligations
- Has at least 1 year of business activity
- Is not in difficulty as defined by European standards
The program is co-funded, which significantly reduces your out-of-pocket costs:
- €4,000 excl. tax for companies with fewer than 250 employees (initial cost: €10,000 – a 60% subsidy)
- €6,000 excl. tax for companies with 250 to 499 employees (a 40% subsidy)
The Diag Decarbon’action program lasts 12 days and consists of 3 key phases:
1. Measurement: Conducting your Carbon Footprint assessment (Scopes 1, 2, and 3)
2. Co-construction: Developing your GHG reduction action plan
3. Implementation: Rolling out initial concrete actions with your partners (clients, suppliers, investors, etc.)
