The Climate Fresk

‍

What are the benefits of the Climate Fresk for businesses?

‍

→ A Climate Fresk workshop helps your company engage your employees and provides them with the tools to understand the cause-and-effect relationships between human activity and the climate. Based on collective intelligence, the workshop sparks a shared awareness of the climate emergency.

‍

→ The Climate Fresk isn't just about awareness; it’s also about showing your staff that your company is committed to fighting climate change. This makes it easier to implement impactful actions, encourages employee participation in those initiatives, and ensures they have a better understanding of why your company is taking these steps.

‍

→ The Climate Fresk workshop is perfect for hosting a CSR team-building day focused on sustainability. It can be scheduled to coincide with European Sustainable Development Week in September or Climate Day in December.

‍

→ The Climate Fresk can be followed by a brainstorming session to generate ideas for reducing your company's climate impact. These initial ideas can serve as the foundation for an internal action plan to be developed later.

How does a Climate Fresk workshop work in a corporate setting?

‍

Step 1: Reflection

The goal is to connect the 42 cards of the Climate Fresk game, which are based on the IPCC report. Building the Fresk highlights the causes and consequences of climate change. Your facilitator will guide and correct you, but because it relies on collective intelligence, it is your group's own thinking that builds the Fresk.

‍

Step 2: Identifying links

You will need to identify and draw the links between the cards that make up the Climate Fresk. This step reveals the complexity of the cause-and-effect relationships driving climate change. You will then get to personalize your Climate Fresk using your own creativity.

‍

Step 3: Debrief

The debrief is a chance to share your impressions of the Climate Fresk and discuss what you’ve learned. It allows facilitators to answer any questions you may have. If time permits, a reflection period is included to brainstorm individual and collective solutions that can be implemented within your company after the workshop.

‍

‍

How long does a Climate Fresk workshop last for companies?

‍

The Climate Fresk workshop lasts three hours.

‍

We recommend dedicating a morning or an afternoon to the workshop to give your team enough time to ask questions. Having a little extra time often allows facilitators to organize a short brainstorming session after completing the Fresk. This time is dedicated to finding solutions and ideas for impactful actions that could be implemented in your organization following the workshop.
