We can all do our part to reduce our company's carbon footprint.

We can all do our part to reduce our company's carbon footprint.
Here is a non-exhaustive list of simple, eco-friendly habits we can all adopt!
Remember to turn off your computers, lights, and power strips! You can even unplug the printer before leaving the office.
Create a routine for when you arrive and leave. For example, while your coffee or tea is brewing in the morning, plug in and turn on your devices. You can also shut down your computer during your lunch break.
Sort your office waste by setting up recycling bins.
Check with management to see how waste is handled in your building and suggest getting a second bin for paper, cardboard, and other recyclables.
Tap water is perfectly safe to drink!
Let's take advantage of that and cut down on single-use plastic bottles. It saves both CO2 and money!
If you prefer sparkling water, you can always get a machine like a SodaStream.
Try to reuse paper as scrap. Also, aim to print less and recycle your ink cartridges.
Need to present a new project to your boss?
➡ Create a clear, dynamic presentation using tools like Prezi or Canva instead of printing handouts.
➡ Struggling to read an Excel sheet and need to copy data to another document?
Use a second monitor instead of printing! If you absolutely must print, remember to use double-sided, black-and-white settings whenever color isn't necessary.
Get up and talk to your colleagues instead of sending an email! It’s friendlier and uses less energy. It’s true—emails generate 410 million tons of CO2 every year!
If you're working remotely, try a quick phone call instead of a long email chain.
If an electronic device stops working, try to get it repaired before buying a new one!
If it’s beyond repair, keep in mind that major electronics retailers are required to take back your small electronic devices for free, with no purchase necessary.
Buy organic coffee and tea. If you're not the one doing the shopping, suggest it!
Stuck for ideas for your next team building day?
Get your colleagues together for some charity work! Think charity runs, clean-up walks, zero-waste DIY workshops, and more.
Still seeing plastic cups around? Suggest that everyone brings in their own mug or glass from home and put an end to buying plastic cups for the office for good!
Don't need your desk lamp anymore? Have an extra pencil holder? Three staplers just sitting there? Start a swap shop! Set up a box at reception or in the break room and invite your colleagues to drop off items they no longer need and pick up things they might actually use. You can even take it a step further and bring in stuff from home that's just gathering dust! Your old items might just find a second life with a colleague.
